We have agreed not to discuss our private life publicly. We hope you'll respect our wishes during this unconscious coupling.

I respect AND APPRECIATE that decision!
I don't want to know ANY DETAILS at all about how such an ugly baby is made.

Have fun David and Chig-Cag!

We got slimed.

A local gallery is doing a show of Ghostbusters fan art to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the movie. It's pretty nifty. The film is set to be rereleased to theaters in August.

Christian took this panorama of the inner sanctum.

Today, we're off to the Art Institute to see a preview of the new Magritte exhibit. Then, tonight, C-Cag's last performance of OBSCURA in Chicago.

C-Cag is on his way back to San Francisco, and I'm at home, thinking about his show OBSCURA. Having seen the show multiple times last year, and seeing it several times in a row this past week, I can say that it has become a tight, solid, smart little show. Not that it wasn't a great show to begin with, but I think Christian has really grown into it, found all the moments, found where the laughs are, where the pauses and spooky notes are. And he has removed the extraneous stuff. Now it represents a fine distillation of Christian's sensibilities. It fits him like a well-tailored suit.

And that's the goal, isn't it? It's what we performing artists all hope to achieve.

I'm reminded of when I was a kid, and punk rock hit the scene. The message that came through to me was: "You don't need expensive instruments, stacks of amps, and a degree from Juilliard to make music. You just need something to make noise with and something to say."

OBSCURA is a miniature triumph of DIY culture. No expensive illusions or elaborate sets. Just a table, a camera, some cards, and a guy with something to say.
